Corvin Byrd is a graduate of Eastside High School and recipient of the 2025 Clarey Walker Leadership Scholarship. He’s excited to attend Clark-Atlanta University (CAU) this fall where he will be studying Sports Psychology.
Throughout his time at Eastside, he’s worked hard to grow as a leader, both on and off the field. One of his most rewarding experiences was being selected as team captain of the varsity football team. In that role, he faced challenges head-on and pushed himself to become a stronger, more confident leader, especially during tough matchups against their biggest rivals.
But for him, leadership isn’t limited to the field. he’s always believed in bringing that same energy and responsibility into the classroom, where he strives to be a model student. Earning the CW Leadership Scholarship is both an honor and a challenge to continue growing and inspiring others.
As he take his next steps, he has big goals: he plan to make the Dean’s List, win Mister Clark-Atlanta, join Omega Psi Phi, and proudly graduate from CAU.
Outside of academics and leadership, Corvin passionate about making music, playing sports, and just having fun trying new things. He also enjoys working out with his friends—it keeps him focused and motivated.
One of his favorite hobbies is fishing. It helps him clear his mind and reminds him of the value of patience.
This is just the beginning, and he’s excited for what’s ahead.
